(18) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Financial advisors are always talking about having a hedge in your portfolio. Basically, it’s an investment that will hopefully keep you making money when one of your other investments goes south. While the devil is out to steal, to kill, and to destroy, God has given us a hedge against his attacks. Peter said to grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord. The unmerited favor of God and the knowledge we receive from the Word of God is our hedge against the devil. As we see Satan attacking this generation with a vengeance we should be spending more time in God’s Word than ever before. We should read the Word, study the Word, and put the teachings of the Word into practice in our lives. This is our hedge against the attacks of the enemy. May we walk in the grace of God and be people of His Word is my prayer.
