Acts 26:2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews.
Lately I’ve been learning a lot about human nature by watching my grandson. He has the amazing ability to change his whole countenance and demeanor in a matter of seconds. One minute he is smiling and happy, then as soon as something doesn’t go to suit him he changes like a chameleon to fit his new found feelings. He can scream, cry, and make faces at the drop of a hat. I’ve also observed how fast he can smile again when he gets what he wants. Amazing! Before you write that off as the activity of a 10 month old, it’s interesting to note that the Apostle Paul knew that adults do the same thing. When he found himself in prison and had to answer for his supposed crimes he said, “I think myself happy”. That’s right you can obviously think yourself happy. Stop focusing on the sickness, trouble, and bills and focus on the awesomeness of God. Allow the joy of the Lord to overwhelm your persona. Make today a joyful day no matter what the circumstance may be and like baby Micah, put on a smile. May we all think ourselves happy as we represent Christ to a hurting world is my prayer.
