Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, an unto the uttermost part of the earth.

After the death of Jesus, satan launched a vicious attack against the body of Christ. Persecution was unleashed on everyone who proclaimed the true Gospel of Christ. Christians were tortured, beaten, and crucified. Jesus had prophesied that this would happen but He also proclaimed that the gates of hell would not prevail and that every weapon formed against the Church would not prosper. So, while persecution intensified the Church began to multiply. Every attempt by satan to stop the Church was met with an outpouring of God’s power. The explosive power of God was poured out on every believer who would receive God’s Holy Spirit baptism and the Church became more and more solidified. I don’t believe God’s plan for the Church has changed in 2015 A.D.. God still has power available to His Church and wants desperately for us to be filled with His Spirit. Begin today to ask God to baptize you in His Spirit so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. May we become the powerful, Spirit filled Church, that Christ wants us to be is my prayer.
