Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Looking back on my life it becomes very obvious to me that all of the bad decisions I’ve made were because I trusted in myself instead of trusting in the Lord. Self-reliance is a fast track to disaster. We weren’t created to be this way, instead we were created to depend upon our Creator. We’re admonished to “trust Him with all our heart” and to “acknowledge Him in all our ways”. The key word is all. All means all, not a part of our heart or even most of our heart but all of our heart. Not part of the time or even most of the time but in all our ways acknowledging Him. Our life’s success depends upon us learning this most powerful principle, that God must be our first and constant focus. If He is our focus then He will direct our paths. May we keep our eyes on Jesus as we allow Him to direct our paths is my prayer.
