Be A Real Friend

Proverbs 17:9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

If you want to know who your real friends are just let something bad be said about you and you will find out. A real friend sticks by his brother; through thick and thin. A real friend not only doesn’t repeat a rumor, he stops them in their tracks. Someone told me a story recently about walking into a room where some people were talking about one of their friends. This person commenced to telling that group of gossips that they needed to stop talking about their friend. The group insisted that the friend was guilty and something needed to be done about it but this person equally insisted that their friend was innocent and that they did’t want to hear another bad word about their friend. After hearing that story I said, “Lord give me some friends like that.” May we be true friends and put an end to destructive words is my prayer.
