Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
The amazing story of Christmas isn’t just about what happened on that incredible day of Christ’s birth. One of the things that makes the story of Christmas like no other story we know is that everything about Christ, including His birthplace was prophesied about hundreds of years before it took place. Micah, a little talked about obscure prophet declared, over 700 years before His birth, that Christ would be born in Bethlehem. An inconspicuous town would be the birth place of the Messiah. How could Micah have known that Jesus would be born in such a place? It’s obvious, the same Holy Spirit that guided the wise men to Him is the same Holy Spirit that inspired Micah to write his prophecy. As we celebrate Christmas, just know this, this is no ordinary holiday and Jesus is not just another prophet. Jesus is the Son of the living God and He is the only way to God the Father. Be a wise man and worship Him. May we all bow before the Messiah is my prayer.
