Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Growing up in a neighborhood full of kids my wife was always competing against the boys. She played baseball, football and anything else that her brothers did and held her own very well. She was also the fastest runner in her neighborhood and was soon running track in High School. The track coach had her running the sprint races until she found out that Carol had great endurance and was still running when everyone else quit. That’s when they starting putting her in the long distance races. Too many people today think that Christianity is a quick fix to their problems and soon fizzle out. Jesus said, “he that shall endure unto the end, shall be saved”. The Christian race is much more like a long walk than a 100 yard dash and is wrought with hills and valleys that must be traversed with great patience. Enduring the hardships of life is the test of true Christianity. Competing against the stronger boys was tough but it’s what gave Carol the endurance she needed to not quit. May we endure hardship like good soldiers as Jesus strengthens us by His Spirit is my prayer.
