Amos 8:11,12 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of  bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: (12) And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

There is a famine sweeping our country today of hearing the Words of the Lord. I meet people all the time who do not know anything about God’s Word. They don’t read the Bible, they don’t go to Church, and if they do attend Church, they attend one where the Pastor doesn’t preach from the Bible but tells stories and gives his own antidotes for life’s problems. This is why our country is falling apart. Our politicians and community leaders no longer look to God’s Word for direction. We have forsaken God’s Word and with it the principles for godly living that would bring us success. We took the Bible out of our schools and now we’re reaping a harvest of godless leaders, godless homes, and even godless churches. While the Bible is still available, it might be a good time to put it in your heart. Read the Bible,  study the Bible, and put it to memory, for there may come a day when your memory is all you’ll have. May we learn to cherish God’s Word is my prayer.
