1John 4:10, 11 Hererin is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Think about it, God sent His Son, to die for us while we were sinners alienated from Him. We didn’t love God enough to live in a way that would honor Him. We literally gave Him no reason to love us. He loved us because God is love and He willingly paid the price for our sins so that we could come into fellowship with Him. That’s the point many people living in the world miss today. Just because the Church is pointing out sin doesn’t mean that the Church hates sinners. What it does mean is that the Church loves sinners enough to tell them that their sin will sentence them to hell. Just know this, that Jesus died for sinners, not saints, so that sinners could be saved from their sins. God is love and He loves sinners more than we could know. May we love God and hate sin is my prayer.
