I Will Come To You

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (John 14:18 KJV)
When our daughter was very little we lived in an old house that wasn’t as tight as it once was. When the wind would blow, the window in her bedroom would rattle and make some pretty unnerving sounds. Obviously, this would scare her, and for a long time she kept it to herself. One night, during a rain storm, we heard her crying in her bed. While comforting her we found out that she had been enduring this fear for some time. We told her that she never had to be alone in her fears and that we were just a whisper away. From that night on any time she was afraid, she would call out to us, we would go to her, console her, speak scripture over her, and pray with her. It wasn’t long until she overcame that fear. Too many times we walk through life enduring pain and fear alone. Jesus has promised to comfort us, to come to us, and to never leave us. He’s just a whisper away. Don’t isolate yourself in your pain, call out to Jesus and He will come to you. May we find the comfort of Christ is my prayer.
Keeping the Victory,
