Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
My Dad left me and my brother some powerful principles to live by. One of them is found here in Ecclesiastes, “whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might”. In other words, whatever you do today, give it your all. Dad would say, “if something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right”. This principle seems to be lost in this “do just enough to get by” generation. Years ago my Dad decided to add a porch on the front of our house. For most people that would be a fairly straight forward project, a couple of poles, a little framing, and some shingles, done. Not our Dad, after framing and roofing, he began the pain staking task of cutting out over 300 pieces of ginger bread trim. The whole project turned into several weeks worth of tedious labor, but when Dad was done it was by far the best looking porch in our subdivision. Let me encourage you, whatever you do today, give it your all, do your best, and leave a trail behind you that says what you did was worth doing. May the works of our hands bring glory to God is my prayer.
Keeping it Real,
Pastor Crowson
