Proverbs 18:21 death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Since faith is such a positive thing, why is it that our words often don’t match our faith? For instance, we’re believing for a healing but talking about how this is just how it is in our family. We say things like, “everybody in my family has this problem”. Or, “it runs in my family”. Wouldn’t it be better if our words matched our faith? The Bible declares that life and death are in the power of the tongue, it may be that our words are hurting us in stead of supporting our faith. A careful consideration of our word choices might reveal a need to redirect our tongue. Try these words, “the Doctor’s report says cancer but God’s Word says by His stripes I am healed”. My teacher said, “you’ll never amount to anything, but God says, I am the apple of His eye, called out and set apart for Him.” Allowing our words to match the situation will produce death, but intentionally choosing words by faith will produce life. May our words bring life to ourselves and everybody they come in contact with is my prayer.
