Luke 2:38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

The culmination of 84 years of fastings and prayers for the Messiah came in the form of a baby named Jesus. Anna had sought God for Israel’s redemption and wasted no time telling everyone about Jesus. Redemption meant that the baby Messiah would be the one to free His people from their sins. It would be Jesus that would be offered as the atoning sacrifice for mankind’s failure to live holy and righteous before God. The message of redemption was taken to a new height. All the prayers of all the Old Testament saints, all the messages the priests had ever preached, and all the declarations of all the Prophets were fulfilled in the coming of Christ. Redemption was no longer something to look for, but rather, now it was something to receive. May we receive the redemption Jesus offers is my prayer.
