Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

That’s a scary thought isn’t?  That sin can so easily beset us. As human beings we were born with a sin nature that is just easily swayed by the temptations of sin. The scariest thing is that when we’re tempted if we’re not careful that sin will beset us and when it gets hold of us it is very difficult to shake. This portion of scripture gives us a key to overcoming temptation. Let us run! That’s right, if it worked for Joseph it will work for us. Just keep running from sin. Run hard and fast every time sin tries to beset you. Run from sin and run to God. Don’t look  back, keep your eyes on the prize and keep running. I know it seems strange to tell a warrior to run but sometimes we have to run to a place where we can take the high ground, to live to fight another day. So, if sin tries to beset you today, keep running until you get to the place where you can win the battle. May we all flee from sin and run to God is my prayer.
