Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. (Haggai 1:7 KJV)
The door on my truck has a curve to it, that when opened, points back at the cab. The corner of said door, comes to a fairly sharp point that rests just about the middle of my forehead. To complicate matters, the door is equipped with a spring to help with closure, that, let’s just say works very well. Every time I forget about the operation of this door, and it’s design for disaster, I find myself with a bloody forehead and my wife taping up the gaping hole I’ve created. The remedy for this problem, short of redesigning Dodge truck doors or reducing my height, is simple. Every time I step out of my truck I have to think about keeping my hand on the door so it doesn’t bounce back and hit me in the face. Avoiding the unintended consequences of a bloody forehead is simple, I just have to think about my actions. Most of the troubles in life are just like my truck door. If you and I would heed the simple yet powerful advice of the prophet Haggai to consider our ways, life would be a whole lot less complicated. May we all give God a chance to work in our lives by taking a moment to consider our ways is my prayer.
Keeping the Victory,
