Zechariah 4:6 Then He answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the Word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

This scripture messes with everything we know and think as humans. We think we can do anything and if we come across something we’ve never encountered before we think we can figure it out. But God told Zerubbabel that what He accomplishes will not be because of human strength or political will. He said that what He does will be by His Spirit. This is why Paul says to not quench the Spirit (1Thessalonians 5:19). The  work of the Holy  Spirit is to perform God’s will in us. As He moves upon us, it’s our responsibility to respond to Him so that God can work through us. Life would be a lot simpler if we would read God’s Word, fast and pray, and obey the Holy Spirit’s direction. Let me encourage you to stop trying to figure everything out. We don’t have to make everything happen. Just trust the work and the leadership of the Holy Spirit and in His time He will perform God’s will in your life. May we all be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit is my prayer.
