In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. (Psalms 18:6 KJV)
When our daughter was about 4 years old we took a vacation to Colorado. While driving in the mountains we decided to get out of the car and take a hike up the side of a snow covered hill. We had only walked about 50 feet when all of sudden our daughter literally disappeared before my eyes. The snow had collapsed underneath her and she had fallen into a hole. I’m not the fastest man in the world, but it only took me a split second to reach down into that hole, grab her by the arm, and pull her up out of there. I can still see her today as I lifted her up out of that dark hole into the sunlight; her pink fluffy jacket, her snow covered pony tail, and those big eyes staring at me in shock of what had just happened to her. It took quite some time for my heart to stop racing as I contemplated what might have been if that hole had been deeper. I’m so glad that we have a Heavenly Father who stands at the ready to lift us up out of every hole we find ourselves in. He’s only a shout away! Call out to Him and watch how fast He can lift you up.
