Pardon

Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgressions of the remnant of His heritage? He retaineth not His anger for ever, because He delighteth in mercy.

Years ago I performed ministry visits for two death row inmates at Huntsville, Texas. After listening to both of them tell there stories and testify of how they were ready to die for their crimes, I left there with a new understanding of God’s grace and forgiveness. Both of those men had asked Christ into their lives and received His forgiveness. Although the state had not pardoned them, Christ had. They were ready to suffer the consequence for their sins because they were ready to meet God. Christ’s pardon had freed them from the eternal penalty for sin. The Prophet Micah said, “God does not retain His anger for ever”, as a matter of fact, “He delights in mercy”. Satan would have you believe that your sins can not be erased and God will not forgive you, but that’s a lie. God’s mercy is everlasting and His greatest desire is that His creation would bring Him our sins and allow the shed blood of Jesus to wash them away. We can find pardon through the salvation that only Christ can bring. May we receive God’s pardon is my prayer.
