James 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
When we were children every year in January it seemed that Christmas would never happen again. Now as an adult it seems that there isn’t enough time between one Christmas and the next to get the shopping done. The thought of waiting on the next Christmas as a child tried all the patience that I possessed. Several times a year we would ask our parents how long it was until Christmas and no matter how many months they said, it always seemed like an eternity. We certainly believed our parents when they said that Christmas was coming, but it sure tried our faith. Little did I know that this trying of our faith was working patience. You would think that as adults we would understand this concept but we obviously still struggle with it. For some reason every time we have to wait on a promise or a prayer to be answered we get all anxious and start to question God. A little patience will go a long way to making life much less stressful. I know that people say to not pray for patience because it will bring trials but the truth is that trials are coming anyway so it might be time to pray for more patience. Ask the Holy Spirit to develop patience in you and watch your faith elevate to new heights. May we all exhibit the fruit of patience is my prayer.
