Persistence

Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times,  and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

That’s the real key isn’t it? To get back up and try again. Everyone falls and no one is oblivious to pain and suffering but the just man gets back up again. He just can’t be kept down, he won’t stop trying, and he never gives up. When Noah began to load the ark, for some of the animals it was no big deal. The giraffe and the elephant took a few steps up the ramp and they were in. The birds just flew in and the snakes slithered their way in. But, for the snail it wasn’t so easy. That ramp must of looked a thousand miles long for a little guy who leaves a trail of himself everywhere he goes. But the snail made it on to the ark by persistence. He kept sliding along one plank at a time until he was safe. If you can only make it up one plank today at least you’re making progress, just don’t quit. You may have failed at this task before but you don’t have to fail this time. Anyone can quit but not everyone learns the secret of persistence. May we persist until we have overcome every obstacle is my prayer.

Keeping it Real!
