Ephesians 4:22-24 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

It’s amazing just how many sets of clothes a child can go through in a day. I was doing some work for a young couple recently who have a 4 year old daughter. She kept me laughing the whole time I was in their home with her antics. Her mother tried her best to keep her from changing clothes all the time, but somehow she always managed to sneak away and come out of her room with a new set of clothes on to show me. She came out dressed as a gymnast, a princess, and even a ballerina. She seemed to have an outfit for whatever roll she wanted to play. It was the cutest thing ever. With each of those quick changes she would become what she wanted to be. Paul gave the Ephesians some powerful instructions when he said, “put off the old man and put on the new man”. God wants us to be like Him, but He expects us to make the change. Too many times we’re praying, “God change me”, and all the while God is saying, “your clothes are laid out on your bed, just put them on”. Don’t let the entitlement mentality of this generation creep into your spiritual life. Let’s do our part and make the changes God is asking us to make in our life. May we put off the old man and put on the new is my prayer.
