Nehemiah 2:13 And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire. (17) Then said I unto them, ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.

Nehemiah was given the task by God to rebuild Jerusalem after years of neglect and ruin. Israel was in need of more than new walls and buildings, it’s spiritual life was in ruins as well. When I read this story I can’t help but look around me and see the spiritual ruin that is taking place in my own country. It will soon follow that we will be in physical ruin as well. Our economy is collapsing, our politicians are corrupt, and our legal system is being run by the illogical mindset of the secular humanist liberals. We need to be reconstructed! Just as Nehemiah was giving his task by God to rebuild Jerusalem, so we have been given the task by Jesus to lead this generation into revival. For us to accomplish our mission we must first experience revival ourselves so that we can then lead others. Begin today by praying and asking God to send revival to your home. Seek Him with all your heart, allow the Holy Spirit to invigorate your spirit with His Word, and pray always, everywhere and for everything. May we be the catalyst that sparks the flames of revival in everyone around us is my prayer.
