Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

From the moment I saw my wife I was attracted to her and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with her. For 32 years now I have pursued a relationship with her and have done everything I know how to show her my affection for her. I made up my mind 32 years ago that she would be the object of my affection and nothing will change that; we will be together for our entire life as husband and wife. That’s how marriage is supposed to be, find the one, set your affections on them, and stay together for life. When it comes to our spiritual journey, God wants our undivided affection as well. He is a jealous God and expects that we will recognize Him as the one true God and will not show affection to any other god. He expects us to be devoted to Him and Him alone. He expects our affections to be set on Him and what He has prepared for us in Heaven. This life on earth is temporary, it is for an appointed time and the relationship we have with God is going to determine our eternal destination. May we all set our affections on God and our future with Him is my prayer.
