And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalms 1:3 KJV)
Carol and I have enjoyed waking up every morning for the last few days to the spring beauty of Chappell Hill Texas. We’ve been staying in a cottage while doing some remodel work. It’s been amazing to watch what looked like weeds a few weeks ago turn into fields of gorgeous wild flowers. Sometimes in our Christian walk we feel more like a weed than a beautiful flower, but let me encourage you this morning, God’s not finished with us yet! The Psalmist said of the righteous, “he shall be like a tree planted”. Not already, but shall be. There is a work taking place as the spring showers of God’s Spirit rain on us, the buds will begin to appear and will eventually blossom into gorgeous flowers of His righteousness. May our roots grow deep into the soil of God’s Word and may the water of His Spirit saturate us is my prayer.
