Mark 16:17, 18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (18)They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
From the time our son was old enough to talk about it I told him that I would restore an old truck for him to drive. When he was 14 we purchased a 1967 Chevy P/U that needed everything. It took us 4 years to complete that project. Along the way to finishing the truck we encountered many obstacles. When we had finished all of the mechanical work and had put it in the shop to be painted, the painter called me one morning and said the truck wouldn’t start. After hours of trouble shooting we had exhausted everything we knew to try to get it to run and returned home puzzled at why it wouldn’t start. The next morning while driving back to the paint shop to work on the truck again, the Holy Spirit impressed this thought on me, “Why don’t you lay hands on it and pray over it?” When we got to the shop I told my son to not get any tools out but that we were going to pray over his truck. I laid my hand on the hood and said a simple prayer of faith over that truck, David turned the key, and it started right up, praise be to God! I learned a valuable lesson that morning; there is more power available to the believer than we could ever imagine. We just need to believe God in every situation and allow Him the opportunity to work on our behalf. May we tap into everything God has for us is my prayer.
