Nehemiah 11:17 Mattaniah son of Mika, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, the director who led in thanksgiving and prayer;
Meister Eckhart, German theologian, once said, “If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice.” I hope that’s not the only prayer we ever pray but I agree with him that thank you should top the list of our prayers. Being thankful is something that comes from a place of humble recognition of God’s blessings upon us. It should be a part of our christian virtue and it should flow out of our heart in praise and thanksgiving toward God. As christians we should be leading the way in thanksgiving. We should lead with an attitude of thanks to God, we should lead with words of thanks to others, and we should lead with actions that show our thanks as well. Take a moment today and lead your family in a time of thanksgiving to God. May we approach God with thankful hearts is my prayer.
