The Meditation of My Heart

Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

It seems to reason that if the meditation of our heart is on the Word of God, then the words that come out of our mouth would be pleasing to God. Sounds simple but we’ve all said things that we wish we wouldn’t have said. Instead of fixing our eyes on dealing with the negative words, what we should be doing is fixing our mind and heart on the Word of God. The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. It has the ability to wash us from the inside out. When it’s planted in our heart, it never leaves us. In our most desperate situations it will rise up from within us and empower us. And, if we will fill our heart with it, our mouth will speak what is the abundance of our heart. May we fill our heart with God’s Word is my prayer.
