Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
You know the questions: “Are we there yet?”, “How much longer?”, “How far is it?”, “When are we going to stop and eat?” These are the questions my brother and I would hit my Dad with every time we got in the car and took a trip. He would just keep reminding us of the destination and all the fun we were going to have when we got there. Maybe it would be good to remind ourselves of some of the promises of God so that we can bolster our patience. For some reason often times we think that if I do the will of God, the promise should be immediate, but that’s just not how it works. We have need of patience! That’s where our faith kicks in, after we’ve done the will of God. It’s through our patient service to God that the promise is realized. May we all do our Father’s will and patiently wait on the promise is my prayer.
