Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. God gave Joshua this incredible task of taking the city of Jericho. The walls were high and thick and seemed impregnable, but this was Joshua’s task. It would have been no big deal if he had a bunker busting bomb or a really large cannon, but there was no such things in existence. How much easier it would have been if he had just one airplane or even some dynamite, but once again they had not been thought of as of yet. No, Joshua had no modern weaponry, but what he did have proved to be quite enough to get the job done. Here it is, the awesome weapon that brought down the walls of Jericho was obedience. That’s right, all Joshua had to do to defeat Jericho was to simply obey God. God’s directions for victory seemed a little ridiculous and ordinary for such an incredible victory, but as Joshua obeyed God he soon found out that it was God that was providing the victory and his obedience was the key to success. Consider this today, maybe all you need to do to find the success you’ve been looking for is to simply obey God. May we all be sensitive to and responsive to the voice of our Heavenly Father is my prayer. Keeping it Real! Pastor Crowson
