1 Chronicles 4:10

Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border,  and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may no pain me!” And God granted him what he requested.

Jabez means pain, and when your parents name you pain it’s not a good sign that your going to have a great life. Jabez, however, turned his pain into a testimony because he called upon the name of the Lord. While his brethren were trying to work out their difficulties on their own, he was relying on God. His requests of God were specific and God granted his petition. May we learn to rely on God for all our needs is my prayer.
