1 Samuel 15:17

Samuel said, “Is it not true, though you were little in your own eyes, you were made the head of the tribes of Israel? And the Lord anointed you king over Israel, 

Remember where you came from and who it is that has brought you to this place, that’s what Samuel was saying to Saul when he got too caught up in himself. Pride goes before the fall and God will always listen to the humble in heart. It’s never a pretty thing when a man gets consumed with himself and thinks too highly of himself. When we allow pride to enter into our hearts God has a way of humbling us. When God takes His covering off of a person or a people the results are always the same; devastation. May we stay humble before the Lord so that He may exalt us in due time is my prayer.
