1 Samuel 26:9

But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him, for who can stretch out his hand against the Lord’s anointed and be without guilt?”

While Saul had wrongfully accused David and pursued him with the intent to kill him David was presented with the opportunity to kill Saul on at least two occasions. Instead of taking Saul’s life, David chose to leave it up to God whether Saul would live or not and would not so much as touch Saul’s life. Isaiah records, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31). How many great things could God do in our lives if we would just wait on Him? Mom once said, “think before you act”. Take a moment before you make your next decision and wait on God’s direction before acting, it may keep you from a mistake and it may open the door for a miracle. May we not act presumptuously as we wait on God is my prayer.
