2 Samuel 17:7 

And Hushai said unto Absalom, The council that Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.

Not every word of advice that is given to us is the right advice. Some times even good, well meaning people give advice that is not appropriate for the current situation. It is our responsibility to weigh the advice of people against the Word of God and see if it is wise or not. In times of indecision where clarity is needed, it’s important to seek out multiple counselors to make a wise decision. May we give and receive wise counsel is my prayer.
