So they commissioned them. In that circle of intensity and obedience, of fasting and praying, they laid hands on their heads and sent them off.

There is an intensity that fasting brings to our spiritual life that raises our entire life up to new levels. As we gain control of our flesh, denying it food, we gain strength in our spirit which raises the intensity of our prayer life and the way we live out our faith. May we follow Christ in fasting and prayer is my prayer.
