But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

Attitude is everything! When you’re in prison the world says your supposed to be sad and in despair but Paul and Silas were praising the Lord. There focus was changed from the jail to God as they sang and praised Him. Not only were they encouraging themselves in the Lord but the prisoners were listening to them as well. As christians we should be changing the atmosphere everywhere we go. Our praise to God should be infectious and our attitudes should encourage others. May we focus on God in every situation is my prayer.
