Acts 26:2

I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

What a difference it makes in a person’s conduct when we realize that we have to answer for ourselves. It seems like this generation has forgotten this. We blame our parents, our friends, the government, our pets, or anything else we can think of for our failures. Paul was happy to answer for himself because he knew that he was about God’s business. He was ready to take responsibility for his actions because he knew that they were right. I wonder if the reason we’re so quick to blame someone or something for our failures is that we don’t want to admit we were wrong. We may not have been able to control what someone or something did to us but we are still responsible for how we respond. May we be able to answer for ourselves gladly is my prayer.

Keeping it Real!
