Deuteronomy 14:22

Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field brings forth year by year.

The principle of tithing works like this. We are blessed by God with the health and ability to work. When we work there is increase in our life. One tenth (the tithe) of that increase we are to give back to God as a sign of faith and thanks to Him for  the blessing of increase. You could say it this way, “we are blessed, to be a blessing”. Tithing is a wonderful cycle of blessing from God and blessing to God. May we not only enjoy God’s blessings but may He enjoy ours as well is my prayer.
