Deuteronomy 4:7,8

For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is the Lord our God whenever we call on Him? (8)Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole law which I am setting before you today?

The intimate relationship that God offers to His children is incredible. He longs to walk with us, talk with us, and guide us through this maze called life. His laws are designed to make our lives everything they’re supposed to be; holy, pure, loving, and respectful of others. When man tries to duplicate God and His laws there are all kinds of unintended consequences. When man plants trees beside the highways to “save the environment”, the wind blows them over onto the highway causing wrecks and even deaths of the people man was trying to save. We dig cisterns to stop flooding only to produce breeding grounds for mosquitoes and disease. And of course, men create their own religions and their own gods that can save no one. God is the only answer for mankind that won’t produce unintended consequences and He is the only one who can save us from our sins. May we turn to God and His laws is my prayer.
