Exodus 20:20

Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you may not sin.”

The judgements of God that have been placed in motion since the beginning of time will not, nor can they be changed or deleted. This is the side of God that you don’t want to know and should be feared. We should hold a reverential fear of God’s judgements but for those of us who have been redeemed there is nothing to fear about God. He is our loving Father who has new mercies for us every morning and refreshing for our spirit as we drink from the waters of life daily. The only  thing that can separate us from our Father is sin. Sin is why Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden, it’s why we have diseases and pestilence, and ultimately it’s why Jesus had to die on the cross.The Ten Commandments were given to us so that we would understand what sin is. They serve as a directive for how to avoid the thing that has caused all the problems in the world. May we shun the very appearance of evil is my prayer.
