Genesis 1:2 

The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the waters.

The picture God paints of the earth before light is a dismal one; a formless, void, dark empty earth. Upon His spoken word light invaded the darkness and light changed everything. That may be one of the best illustrations of salvation in your Bible. Life with out Christ has no form, it’s void of everything it’s supposed to be, and it’s covered with darkness. When the light of the Gospel shines on us everything changes and life becomes what it’s supposed to be. May the light of the Gospel shine in your heart is my prayer.
