Genesis 1:4,5

And God saw the light, that it was good: and and God divided the light from the darkness. (5) And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

From the beginning of time God created a division between the light and the darkness. His creation of day and night serves as a constant reminder of the division between what is good and what is evil. As Christians we are to “walk in the light, as He is in the light” and to “shun the very appearance of evil”. There can be no commingling of light and darkness; either we are walking in the light or we are walking in the darkness. Don’t expect those who are walking in darkness to enjoy the light you’re walking in. The spiritual enmity you feel is because light can not bear witness with darkness. Let your light shine brightly and dispel the darkness. May our light shine on the darkness of our world and glorify God is my prayer.
