Genesis 6:5,6

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (6) And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.

If you’ve ever wondered if God has feelings, here is a good example of how God feels sadness. The sins that His creation commits literally causes Him grief. One translation says that the sins of the world “broke His heart”. Sin is what separates man from God and when we sin our Creator grieves over that separation. Sin is what caused Jesus to have to die on the cross which should grieve us as well. Don’t break God’s heart with less than holy living, let’s live in such a way that our lives will bring Him pleasure, not pain. May we live as holy servants of the Most High God is my prayer.
