James 1:26

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

Controlling our tongue may be one of the hardest things to do but it is necessary if we are to mature as Christians. Putting the brakes on our runaway tongue can be as simple as just telling ourselves not to speak. Giving our mind and heart a moment to consider our next words can make all the difference in their value. May our words be a reflection of our faith is my prayer.
