Jeremiah 26:13

Now therefore amend your ways and your deeds and obey the voice of the Lord your God; and the Lord will change His mind about the misfortune which He has pronounced against you.

God’s message to His people who had rejected His Word and served false gods was to change their ways. If they did not change their ways they would be punished, if they changed their ways the punishment would be avoided. God always extends mercy to those who will amend their ways. It is never God’s desire to punish, but rather, it is His desire to restore and bless those who are obedient to Him. May we amend our ways, honor God’s Word, and obey Him is my prayer.
