Job 16:19

“Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my advocate is on high.”

What a comforting thought to know that Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for you and me. This understanding is what comforted Job when his friends spoke discouraging words over him. He knew that his witness was in heaven and his advocate was God. God is always for us, even when we feel alone and abandoned and our friends have turned against us. If that’s you today, look to the heavens and you will find your  advocate and help in time of trouble. May we rest in the assurance that God is for us is my prayer.
