Job 5:8
“If I were in your shoes, I’d go straight to God, I’d throw myself on the mercy of God. (the Message)
If Job’s friends gave him any good advice, this is it, “throw yourself on the mercy of God”. All throughout the Bible we are constantly reminded of the mercy of God. From kings to beggars we see God’s mercy poured out on mankind. Don’t believe the lies about the angry God who anxiously waits to pour out judgement on His creation. There is judgement coming but that is not God’s desire so He pours out mercy in hopes that we will turn from sin, place our faith in Him, and receive His grace. Judgement is reserved for those who reject Christ and mercy is the heart of God giving us time to turn to Him. May we allow mercy to point us to God is my prayer.
