John 12:42, 43

Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; 43. for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.

Unbelievable! We’re so quick to jump on our children about peer pressure as if we’re above it. But, the truth is that peer pressure affects everyone. We’re so worried about what everyone else thinks about us that if we’re not careful we can allow peer pressure to form our lives into something we never planned. I think the old saying goes like this, “just because everyone is jumping off a bridge doesn’t mean you have to also”. Instead of succumbing to people pressure we need to follow the leadership of Christ and stand out from the crowded world. This is why the New Testament disciples prayed for boldness; so they could provide the example of Christ this world so desperately needs. May we rise above peer pressure and show forth Christ is my prayer.
