John 8:31,32
31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
It’s one thing to read the Bible, it’s another thing to know the truth. The Jews had read the Bible but the truth of it’s words had not made it’s way into their hearts. As we read the Bible we should pray that God would illuminate our hearts with it’s truth. As the truth of God’s word gets in our heart it will free us from the sins we have committed. We will no longer be slaves to those sins but will be freed from them. The truth will make us free. May our hearts be filled with truth and our lives free from sin is my prayer.
