Leviticus 5:5
So it shall be when he becomes guilty in one of these, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned.
Acknowledgement of sin is the first step to freedom from sin. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) To act like we are perfect and sinless is ridiculous. Paul told the Romans, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) This sin guiltiness that we all live with must be confessed and there must be atonement made for our sins. In the Old Testament God’s people had to sacrifice grain and animals but thank God we are not living in the Old Testament. The sacrifice for our sins was made at Calvary by God’s only begotten Son, Christ Jesus our Lord. His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave has bought us new life. May we confess our sins to God and receive Christ as our Lord and Savior is my prayer.
