Leviticus 6:13

Fire shall be kept burning continually on the altar; it is not to go out.

The fire that was kept burning on the altar was for offering sacrifices to God. The thought of having to sacrifice something may be the reason many people do not pray. This generation is accustomed to getting what they want without any consideration for others; sacrifice is missing from their vocabulary. However, without a sacrifice there can be no remission of sin (thanks be to God for Jesus) and without a sacrifice there will be no real gain in your life either. May we keep the fires of sacrifice burning is my prayer.
